Before Claudia Lane would go on to win two Foot Locker Nationals titles, two more California Division 4 state titles and represent Team USA at the Great Edinburgh race in 2017, it was at the Mt. SAC Invitational in 2016 when she won her first big race.
The Malibu (CA) High School then-sophomore rolled through the switch-back laden course en route to a 3-mile time of 16:32.60, which at that point was the sixth-fastest performance all-time on the course.
A year later, Lane would smash that performance again, clocking an all-time record of 15:49.00. But things have to start somewhere, don't they?
Check back to this moment five years ago, a truly great highlight over a pretty legendary high school career for Lane.
